First floor re-imagined
A substantial Victorian House positioned on a corner site with an abundance of natural light. The first floor layout had been previously altered to create a master-bedroom suite with an awkward maze like plan configuration with open fronted hanging storage and shelves.
Our brief was to re-organise the first floor to create a contemplative and tranquil master suite and guest shower room. A restrained colour palette was used throughout, the walk-in wardrobe re-configured to wrap around the corner of the house. The existing cast-iron bath was retained as the centre-piece of the bathroom. A new larger shower enclosure constructed and the existing basin repositioned. The opening to the walk-in wardrobe re-configured to provide a direct connection to the bathroom. The wardrobe lined on one side with full height hanging storage fronted with ‘scalloped’ shaped doors, the opposite window wall fitted with cupboards below window cill height.
The existing floorboards were retained and repaired and painted white to correspond with the white painted walls and joinery.
